Kidsgrove, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is made up of board members from Selinsgrove and the surrounding communities. It is responsible for raising all funds necessary to maintain the playground and keep it safe for our children.

  • We need your support!

The playground is not maintained by the boro and no local tax dollars are used in the upkeep or the ongoing improvements and additions. We are hoping to raise $200,000 to make our playground more ADA compliant. Donate here.

  • Pavilion

We have a beautiful pavilion that is available to be reserved by the public. It is located to the right of the playground directly off of the parking lot and is handicapped accessible.

About

Help us become more handicap accessible!

Kidsgrove’s mission is to be a safe and inclusive play space for all children. We believe that every child should have the chance to play no matter their ability. That is why we began or fundraising effort to raise $200,000 to make our playground more accessible to all. We will continue this effort until we have enough money to replace the mulch with a solid rubber surface and to add more ADA compliant equipment. If you would like to help us reach our goal, you can make a donation through the PayPal link here, or you can mail your donation to Kidsgrove, Inc. P.O. Box 340, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 The children thank you for your support!

Our Facility

We are proud to be a smoke and alcohol free facility. We are also a fully handicapped accessible playground with sidewalks throughout with ramps into the play areas. We also have a handicapped accessible sandbox and swing.

History

Kidsgrove was built in five days, from Sept. 17 – 21, 1997, by hundreds of volunteers each day from Selinsgrove and the surrounding communities. Richard “Dick” Norman had a dream to build this playground and after two years of planning, designing and fund raising his dreams came true. Anyone who has been to Kidsgrove has most likely seen Dick , or as some call him, “Mr. Kidsgrove” hard at work building MiniTown, painting, mulching, planting flowers, pulling weeds or anything else that needs to be done. He is the heart and soul of Kidsgrove and we don’t know what we would do without him.
Kidsgrove is constantly changing from year to year with new things to see and do. Since the playground was built 18 years ago we have added two parking lots, restrooms, three pergolas, swings and seating for the parents, a pavilion, the stage, a bike rack, picnic areas, many beautiful flower beds, the train area, rubber matting in the toddler area, and of course MiniTown. All of these additions would not have been possible without donations from very generous individuals, organizations and businesses in the area. We are also very dependent on volunteers to help us with everything from weeding and planting flowers to painting, sanding and building.
The playground is not maintained by the boro and no local tax dollars are used in the upkeep or the ongoing improvements and additions.
Kidsgrove, Inc.* is the group responsible for making sure the playground is maintained and kept safe for your children.
